Amanda Marquez is a San Jose-based dance educator, performer, choreographer and Latin Jazz instructor. Her background spans classical ballet, modern, jazz, New York Style Mambo, International Latin and Latin Jazz, giving her a broader technical base than a typical social dance background.
Amanda trained at the School of the Garden State Ballet in New Jersey and continued her performance and teaching career across New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Bay Area. Her credits include appearances on Telemundo, Univision and BBC Vancouver, along with performances such as the Latin Billboard Awards in Miami.
In the salsa and Latin dance world, Amanda has taught and performed alongside Sekou McMiller and SMC Dance Co., and she continues to teach master classes and workshops in Latin, Jazz and Ballet. She is on the faculty of the San Jose State University Dance Department and teaches through several Bay Area dance institutions.
Amanda is also the founder and artistic director of ENCANTO Youth Latin Dance Company and ECHALE! Adult Latin Dance Company. Her work is a strong fit for dancers interested in Latin Jazz, mambo, stage technique and the bridge between studio dance training and social Latin dance.
