Erica Reyna is a salsa & bachata instructor and performer based in Los Angeles. She directs Emotion Dance Company and teaches with On2ourage, with a focus on styling and the mechanics behind clear movement.
Erica began dancing as a young child, studying tap, ballet and jazz before expanding into hip-hop and Latin dance. In her twenties, she began competing and traveling professionally. She has won multiple national and international titles as a competitor in the Bachata Cabaret division.
She has extensive teaching experience, and co-directed a dance company for five years before establishing Emotion Dance Company.
Her instruction covers styling, partnerwork and performance skills. She emphasizes balance and weight transfer, helping students develop control and timing that they can use for personal expression as well as choreography.
Emotion welcomes students with different goals, from dancers preparing for professional performance to those studying movement for themselves. Erica’s approach places expression alongside technique, using choreography as one part of training rather than the only measure of a dancer’s progress.
