Biography

Rumbaché has established themselves as one of the top salsa/timba bands in the Bay Area. Rumbaché (formerly known as “Quimbombo”) plays a wide repertoire of classic and contemporary Cuban and salsa music, as well as their own original songs which are a fusion of salsa, timba, bomba and other influences. The name of their band means “okra” which is the food of choice for the Yoruba god of the drum, Chango

Based out of Oakland, Rumbaché plays at nightclubs and musical festivals around the Bay Area, including the San Jose Jazz Festival, Sonoma Jazz Festival, Sausalito Seahorse, Cigar Bar, and more. In addition to their live music, Rumbaché has also released their own CD by the name “Llegó La Fiesta” which features many of the band’s original music.

Rumbaché is a dancer’s band that plays music which fun not only to listen to but to dance to. They are actively involved in the Bay Area salsa scene, and continue to delight audiences with their unique Cuban sound.

    Rumbache are one of the most exciting bands I have ever heard, and I’ve been listening awhile. They will make you cry “¡Agua!” for sure.

    Rumba che IS the hottest salsa band ive heard in quite awhile. The musicianship is superb. This band is a sure bet. Love thus band.
