Alex Toledo, also known as Alexandra Toledo, is a Spain-based salsa artist from the Canary Islands and now based in Gijon. She is known for Cuban salsa and timba, with a musical stage style shaped by rhythmic gymnastics, theater, singing, and Latin dance.
Alex first explored dance through rhythmic gymnastics and Latin styles before diving more deeply into Cuban salsa and timba. She also spent six years as a gypsy jazz vocalist, which helped shape the way she uses phrasing and musical accents in her dancing.
She teaches and performs internationally, with recent festival work including Croatian Summer Salsa Festival in Rovinj, World Stars Salsa Festival in Bulgaria, Vietnam International Latin Festival, and Nova Dance Fest in the United States. Her workshops focus on Cuban movement and musical interpretation, helping dancers bring more personality into their social dancing without losing timing or technique.
