Carlos Cortes is a Mexican American salsa dancer and instructor based in Dallas, Texas. He co-founded Mudanza Movement with Rebeca Trevino, bringing regular salsa classes to Oak Cliff Cultural Center.
Carlos started dancing salsa at the age of eleven at Calirumba. He has continued developing as a competitor and performer while building his teaching career in the Dallas dance community.
Mudanza Movement began in the summer of 2025. Its classes give students a progression from introductory salsa to more developed partnerwork, with attention to fundamentals and connection. Carlos also teaches and performs in collaboration with Gabriela Gonzales.
The school offers separate levels for students taking their first steps and those ready to build on the basics. His work in Oak Cliff combines this local teaching with a continuing interest in salsa footwork competition and performance, including appearances at events in Mexico.
