Fernando “Ferny” Flores is a Fresno-based salsa instructor and the director of Enchílate Salsa Team. He teaches On1 salsa through Enchílate and directs the team’s performance training, giving Fresno dancers a local path into salsa classes and the festival stage.
Ferny is an active member of the Central Valley salsa community. Through Enchílate, he gives students a place to train regularly, perform, and stay connected to the broader Northern California salsa scene without having to leave Fresno for every opportunity. The team also gives local dancers a shared identity, which matters in a city that sits outside the Bay Area’s larger salsa hub.
Ferny teaches and performs at local festivals and congresses including California Dance Festival and Nova Dance Fest. His work with Enchílate is less about building a single star name and more about developing a Fresno-based team that can represent the city with solid On1 salsa, clear choreography, and a welcoming community feel.
