About Lisa M. Hines

Lisa Hines is a choreographer, educator, and the Founder and Director of Gate City Latin Dance in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she is dedicated to building inclusive, accessible, and community-centered Latin social dance experiences. She earned her Master’s of Fine Arts in Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

A passionate advocate for Latin dance as both an art form and a means of community connection, Lisa has performed with companies including Dance Theatre of the World, K’Lokoe Salsa Project, Ritmo, and Rock City Ritmo Salsa. As a teaching artist, she has instructed at Elon University, the University of Central Arkansas, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and North Carolina A&T State University, where her work bridges higher education, cultural stewardship, and social dance.

Through Gate City Latin Dance, Lisa continues to create opportunities for dancers of all backgrounds to learn, connect, and experience the rich traditions of Latin social dance.
