Salsa Misaki (real name: Misaki Yoshikawa), is a Japanese salsa dancer and instructor based in Tokyo. She is part of a newer generation of Japanese salseras, building a large following online while continuing to teach, perform and appear at major congresses. Her dancing is known for musical shines, clean technique and a bright, expressive performance style.
Misaki began dancing salsa in 2011 and has continued to grow through teachers, dancers and international training experiences. The SALSA MISAKI project brings together her classes, online lessons and performance work, giving students a way to train with her in person or follow her teaching from outside Japan.
She teaches in Tokyo and other cities in Japan, including Yokohama, with classes that focus on body movement, footwork, partnerwork and confidence on the dance floor. Her approach feels upbeat but still technical, with clear guidance for dancers who want to look more comfortable and musical.
Misaki is also active internationally, performing and teaching at major Latin dance events across Asia and beyond. That combination of local classes, online reach and congress work has made her a recognizable Japanese salsa artist for dancers who follow the international congress circuit.
