Joshua Barbosa is a Puerto Rico-born salsa instructor based in San Francisco and a director of Iroko SF with Natali Colom. He started in the Bay Area salsa scene with Salsamania, later co-directed Yamulee Project San Francisco, and now helps lead the local Iroko franchise.
Joshua grew up in Puerto Rico and fell in love with Salsa On2 before bringing that training to San Francisco. With Yamulee Project SF, he helped build a team focused on New York-style salsa and mambo, giving Bay Area dancers a structured place to train and perform. That background makes his teaching especially useful for dancers who want both social technique and a team-training mindset.
His current work with Iroko SF continues that path, while his background with Arenas Dance Company adds Afro-Cuban movement to his dance foundation. Joshua teaches On2 salsa, performance technique, and movement quality for dancers who want a fuller mambo base.
