It’s been another busy month at Salsa Vida.
Since our last update, we’ve made major improvements to event discovery, refreshed event information across the site, upgraded TuneTempo, improved search and maps, and prepared one of our biggest expansions yet: Bachata events on Salsa Vida!
Here are some of the highlights:
Bachata Is Coming to Salsa Vida
We know many salseros also dance bachata and many socials and Latin dance events include both.
Now we’re making bachata a bigger part of the Salsa Vida experience.
We’ve started adding hundreds of new bachata events to the Salsa Vida calendar, with more on the way. Clear labels and filters make it easy to find salsa, bachata, or events featuring both, so whether you dance salsa, bachata or both, you can quickly find the events you’re looking for.
We’re starting with selected cities and will continue expanding bachata coverage as we refine the experience.
Better Search, Maps and Event Discovery
We’ve made a lot of improvements to the core event-finding experience.
Maps are faster and easier to use, with improved filters and nearby-event discovery. Search has also gotten significantly faster, especially when looking for events by city or location. Give it a try!
We’ve continued improving our city guides as well, making it easier to move between upcoming events, classes and maps to find what you’re looking for.
We’ve also been working behind the scenes to keep listings fresher, correcting outdated schedules and venues, removing events that are no longer happening, and refreshing festival information as new dates are announced.
Submit Photos to Salsa Vida
You can now submit photos for events listed on Salsa Vida.
If you’re an organizer, or you have great photos from your favorite social, you can now submit them directly from the event page.
Better photos help dancers get a feel for an event before they go, while making Salsa Vida a more useful and visual way to explore the dance scene.
TuneTempo Gets an Upgrade
TuneTempo, our free music slow-downer and looping tool for dancers, has received a major refresh.
It now has a redesigned interface, improved mobile and desktop performance, more reliable playback and looping, keyboard shortcuts, a Reset Loop button and a new night mode.
If you’re practicing choreography, musicality, timing or a difficult section of a song, TuneTempo lets you slow it down and repeat it without changing the original pitch. Give the new version a try.

There’s plenty more ahead.
We’re continuing to expand bachata coverage and add more detailed event labels and filters, including styles like On1, On2, Cuban Salsa, Salsa Caleña and different styles of bachata, along with details like live music and free events. The goal is to make it even easier to find the kinds of events you want to attend.
We also have some new Salsa Vida lesson videos on the way, along with more improvements and tools for dancers and instructors.
